Sometimes I find that in my zeal for Christ, the words coming out of my mouth (or my keyboard) are not the exactly what others want to hear. Does this make them wrong? Does it mean that I'm not Christ-like enough? Does it hinder my relationships? Could it prevent me from sharing my testimony? Sure, all of the above.

BUT the one thing I find that matters more than all of that is that JESUS knows my heart. HE doesn't have to question my intentions because I am God's child, and through constant prayer we have a relationship that can compare to no other I've ever had or will have. So no matter how I may stumble over words or offend others by not being who or what they think I should, I'm okay with that. And because the things of this world are just that...worldly things - jealous, hate, greed, sloth - it doesn't matter what I say, some will never even try to understand, but there's always that chance that a seed has been planted.

Here's another thing I pray about a lot: Do the people who knew you in sin recognize you now? Have they written you off, or do they hang around to see if it's real? Does your witness matter? Yes, every Christian should know the hour is late, the end times are upon us and we will be hated for our beliefs. That should be okay with you. Jesus said if they hate you remember they hated me first.

You just gotta keep being the salt and light.

Thanks for the post, KL. It's a big encouragement to know that somewhere, someway, your words may have blessed or touched someone. I hope and pray that God will take the words that come out of my mouth and use them to minister grace to the hearers.

I cannot even begin to tell you how the Lord has had to change me over the years....sometimes my zeal was so great that it offended others. I am just glad that he is forgiving and continues to teach me. We grow and mellow over time, find that some things are not worth it anymore, and yet other things are always going to be at the top of the list....where faith matters are concerned. Grace is something that I have learned to extend more and more. Or maybe it's just the fact that I'm getting older and more tired!

The one thing I am certain of, is that God sees our hearts. And He loves us in spite of the how pitiful our attempts may be.
